The school community at Eden Girls’ Leadership Academy, Manchester is celebrating after its pupils secured exceptional GCSE results this summer.  

School staff and parents joined pupils in school as they opened the results that will enable them to progress onto the next stage of their education. 

Aspiring engineer, Saya Ibrahim has achieved the top grade of 9 in one subject – as well as five grade 8s and four grade 7s. She is now looking forward to studying A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Computer Science at the prestigious Loreto College or Xaverian College. Reflecting on her achievements, Saya said:

‘I’m so grateful for all the support I have received at Eden Girls’ and look I forward to an exciting future made possible by my results.” 

Fellow high achiever, Maryam Khan was also delighted with her results, achieving six grade 9s and three grade 8s. Maryam’s outstanding results enabled her to secure a place at Manchester High School for Girls’ Sixth Form to study A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Biology. Delighted with her results, Maryam said:

“Thank you so much to all my teachers and family for their support and encouragement, I am so pleased to have been able to reach my full potential.” 

After achieving a set of outstanding results, Saleeha Aftab can now take her next step towards fulfilling her aspiration to train as a dentist. Saleeha achieved two grade 9s, four grade 8s and two grade 7s. She now plans to continue her studies at Loreto College or Xaverian College where she will study A levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Biology. Thanking the school staff, Saleeha said:

“Thank you to everyone at Eden Girls’! Mr Wilson helped me achieve my grade 8’s in science which will help in my career. Thank you also to Mrs Baig our Head of Year who supported me throughout my school time”.
