CREATIVE MEDIA PRODUCTION

The BTEC Tech Award in Creative Media Production is a vocational qualification that pupils can choose to study at Key Stage 4. The qualification is designed to provide an engaging and stimulating introduction to the world of media.

Pupils will learn valuable technical skills and techniques across different creative media disciplines and will study key aspects of the industry’s main sectors (including Digital Moving Image, Digital Audio Production, Digital Publishing, Website Production and Digital Games Production). They will also learn about catering to different target audiences, explore potential careers in the industry, and provide a practical response to a digital design brief.

Enrichment Offer

The Department offers subject-specific enrichment clubs and pupils are able to use the Academy’s state-of-the-art IT facilities at both lunchtime and after school. Pupils are able to take part in school-wide competitions, as well as representing the Academy in local and national competitions designed to increase their engagement and enhance their subject knowledge. Intervention sessions to consolidate prior learning and ensure maximum progress are at the heart of our delivery model.
